Research Assistant in Optoelectronics (Ref. No. POB 03) (Cork, Ireland)

This is an excellent opportunity to engage in advanced photonics research and development, use state-of-the- art facilities and interact with experienced researchers and leading-edge photonics companies.

The position will provide technical support to help accelerate the research and development of advanced photonic packaging solutions. Our current activities include development of high speed, small form-factor, highly integrated and low-cost photonic packaging technologies. Key applications for these technologies include telecommunications and bio-diagnostics. There will also be a strong focus on supporting the emerging requirements of the photonics industry, including engagement in collaborative research with industrial partners.

The ideal candidate should have experience working with electronic components. Experience in electronic assembly and design, especially in an industrial environment would be an advantage but is not critical. This position involves supporting the development and delivery of optoelectronic product demonstrators and requires that the candidate work to fixed deadlines. The candidate should be qualified to diploma or degree level with an emphasis on electronics and/or materials science.

Please leave a comment IF you like the entry.
It's like visiting a place where there is a guest book by the front door. Before you exit, you sign it to leave a note about your experience of the place.
I know that people are visiting by virtue of site
meter, but almost no one leaves a comment.
If you are in a hurry (and who isn't these days?), just leave a "thanks".
Thanks
