[Australia] Tuition Fee Waivers for International Higher Degree Research Students, The University of Queensland

The School of Engineering, The University of Queensland, aims to strengthen its research quality and output by recruiting the best international students from around the world.

The School is waiving PhD tuition fees worth approximately $30,000 per year, for suitably qualified international students who undertake any of the specified research projects.

Conditions of eligibility for tuition fee waiver

The student must have a four-year Bachelor of Engineering/Science degree with at least the equivalent of Honours, Class 1.
The student must have sufficient English language proficiency at the time of enrolment to meet the University’s entry requirements (IETLS: 6.5 overall, with 6 in writing).
The student must be enrolled 100% through the School of Engineering.
The principal supervisor must fund a full stipend at least equivalent to the current APA rate.
The principal supervisor must have sufficient research funds available to pay all laboratory costs, provide the student with a new personal computer/laptop and pay for attendance at an international conference.
The student must be selected through a competitive process.
The fee waiver is for a maximum of 3.5 years
The student must apply for an IPRS/Endeavour Scholarship or other similar support.
All cases need to be approved by the Head of School.
